Biography

Leyre Sánchez de Muniain Legarrea is a predoctoral researcher at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Navarra. She graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Navarra with Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award and currently pursues her PhD in Medicines and Health.

Her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease, astrocyte biology and brain metabolism. She has participated in several national neuroscience conferences and is co-author of scientific publications in the field of neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration.

She has received multiple competitive fellowships and awards, including the FPU fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and the Tatiana Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship in Neuroscience.
